A motorcyclist was injured Sunday night in central Fresno.

Officers responded to the collision just after 8 p.m. at Dakota and Fruit avenues.

Fresno Police Lt. Henry Garcia III said the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound Dakota when he collided into the side of the truck that was either pulling in or backing out.

The rider was taken to a local hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition, Garcia said.

Garcia said there were not many witnesses to the collision, but added that the motorcyclist was at fault.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, Garcia said.

Alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the collision.
