Shooting that injured three at Fresno apartment complex now a homicide investigation, police say
A shooting that injured three people at an apartment complex in Fresno on Friday night has become a homicide investigation, police said Saturday.
Police would not say how many of the three had died and did not identify any of the victims.
Officers had responded to reports of a shooting at 10:30 p.m. in the area of Dakota and Teilman avenues, Fresno Police Lt. Marcus Gray said.
As officers were arriving, callers said there were multiple shooting victims in the complex. The incident stemmed from a party gone bad, witnesses said.
Officers arrived and saw people leaving in different directions before they found the three victims.
The three men were taken to a hospital and had been in critical condition Friday night, Gray said.
“There are multiple witnesses and multiple bits of evidence scattered throughout the apartment complex,” Gray said. “It’s still a very active scene.”
The motive for the shooting was under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
