Emergency responders pulled a body from a Fresno canal on Tuesday, according to police.

Officers and rescue personnel responded about 4:30 p.m. to a canal near Marks and Ashlan avenues after a report of the body, which police described as a man.

The body was retrieved from the canal and showed no obvious signs of trauma, Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said.

The cause of death and identity were pending from the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, she said.
