Victim of questionable death had suspicious injuries, Fresno County deputies say
Investigators were looking into a questionable death Friday in Laton, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
A 911 call about 1:30 a.m. brought deputies to the area of Fowler and Tache avenues in northern Laton, a spokesperson Tony Botti said in an update about 8:30 a.m.
Deputies found an 82-year-old man with injuries, but despite life-saving efforts he died inside the home, he said. The injuries appeared suspicious.
Three men at the home who were all related to the older man were detained at the scene and have been cooperative with investigators, Botti said.
“We’ve gotten a search warrant and are in the house,” Botti said in a text message to The Bee on Friday morning. “We are looking for evidence to hopefully tell more of the story.”
He said an autopsy will help determine the man’s cause of death.
