Woman killed in two-vehicle collision at Fresno intersection. CHP describes what happened

UPDATE: Victim ID’d in fatal collision near Central West campus in Fresno

A woman was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision after the car she was a passenger in ran a stop sign in west Fresno, the California Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of McKinley and Jameson avenues near the Central West High School campus.

CHP Sgt. Brian Hunt said a Toyota Camry headed north on Jameson at an unknown speed went through a stop sign and collided into the side of a GMC truck that was going west on McKinley.

A woman passenger in the Camry, estimated to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, Hunt said. The driver of the Camry suffered minor to moderate injuries.

A man driving the truck went to the hospital with his family.
