Crash over cliff kills one in Fresno County, CHP says. The incident site is difficult to reach

A driver was killed when their car went over a cliff in the Fresno County foothills, the California Highway Patrol confirmed Wednesday.

A single car went off a cliff in the fatal crash on Auberry Road near Meadow Lane about 10 a.m., killing a single person inside, officer Traci Gallian said.

The age and gender of the person in the car was not immediately available, CHP said.

The car was dozens of feet down the cliff and difficult to reach for officers, CHP said. The car was not visible from the roadway.

Officials were still working on how to recover the car, CHP said.
