Update: Rider in fatal motorcycle crash near Clovis identified. Road was closed, CHP says

A Fresno man killed in a solo motorcycle crash with parked construction equipment was identified on Monday afternoon.

According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, 39-year-old Carson Enns was killed in the collision Monday in the area of Copper and Peach avenues.

Enns was riding a 2008 Yamaha FZ1 headed east on Copper near Peach Avenue about 1:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

He approached a section of road that is blocked off for ongoing road construction while traveling at an unknown speed, the CHP said. “Road closed” signs and heavy equipment blocked the road.

Enns then applied the brakes, causing the motorcycle to rotate clockwise before he struck a sign and a front-end loader tractor. He was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest under the tractor.

Enns was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
