Pedestrian killed while crossing Fresno street identified. She was hit by large SUV

The Fresno County Coroner on Friday identified a woman pedestrian who was killed Wednesday evening while crossing East McKinley Avenue at North Maple Avenue.

She was identified as Rebecca Rossel, 30, of Fresno.

Police said the collision took place about 6 p.m. when the westbound driver in a large SUV stuck the woman Emergency workers found the woman on a sidewalk and rendered aid, but she died at Community Regional Medical Center.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.
