19-year-old ID’d in fatal car crash in northwest Fresno. He was found in the backseat
A 19-year-old Fresno man has been identified as the victim in a fatal car crash Sunday morning.
The Fresno County Coroner’s office confirmed on Monday that Alex Martinez was the man found in the backseat of silver BMW that collided with a parked car near Spruce and Thiele avenues around 1 a.m.
UPDATE: Juvenile suspect arrested by police
Police said the driver, a passenger in the front seat of the car, and possible others left the scene.
Officers canvassed the area for surveillance video and witnesses. Detectives are investigating the crash.
