Driver identified in crash on Highway 99 in Fresno. The man was thrown from his Jaguar

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified a 30-year old man who was killed when his Jaguar overturned on Highway 99 early Sunday morning.

Rathanak Heng was driving southbound on the freeway when he veered off onto the shoulder of the roadway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Heng was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car during the crash and struck by two passing vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not know how fast Heng was traveling prior to the crash, or whether drugs or alcohol may have contributed to his veering off the road. Toxicology results are pending and the CHP said the investigation is ongoing.
