Driver killed after being ejected from Jaguar on Highway 99 in Fresno crash

A man was killed after being ejected from a vehicle after a collision on Highway 99 in Fresno early Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, just before 4 a.m. officers were called to the area of Highway 99 just north of Highway 180 for a collision.

Officials said a 30-year-old man was driving a Jaguar SUV on southbound 99 at an undetermined speed. For an unknown reason, the vehicle then veered to the right onto the right shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then overturned causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle and landing in the roadway where he was struck by two passing vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperating with the investigation.

CHP said it appeared the driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
