Contractor dies after logs roll off truck in Fresno industrial accident, deputies say

A 62-year-old independent contractor was killed Saturday afternoon after he was caught under falling tree logs in a southwest Fresno industrial accident, Fresno County sheriff’s deputies said.

The man was identified as 62-year-old Vance Fleming of Auberry.

Deputies arrived about noon in the 5300 block of West California Avenue near California Avenue. They found the man pinned underneath large logs that had rolled off his truck, but there were no additional details on what the man was doing at the time of the accident.

He suffered chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
