Clovis woman killed in two-vehicle crash on Highway 168, CHP says
A 50-year-old Clovis woman was killed Monday in a collision on Highway 168, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman was driving a 2015 Jeep Renegade on Academy Oaks Lane around 11:30 a.m. when she turned east onto the highway, failing to see a 2000 Ford F-350 and pulling directly into the path of the truck, the CHP said.
The driver in the Ford was unable to avoid the Jeep and crashed with it, causing both vehicles to careen onto the north shoulder of the highway. Officers arrived to find the woman with major injures and began to perform CPR.
She was air-lifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. She has yet to be identified.
Both drivers were wearing their seats belts. Drugs, alcohol or weather did not appear to be a factor in the fatal collision, the CHP said.
