Clovis man killed walking on Highway 168 in the rain, CHP says

A 23-year-old man was killed early Saturday while walking on Highway 168 in the rain, according to the California Highway Patrol.

He was identified Sunday as Marshall Fuller of Clovis, Fresno County Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said.

Fuller was wearing dark clothing and walking in the westbound lane of the freeway east of Ashlan Avenue just after 1:30 a.m., CHP said.

A 25-year-old woman driving a 2020 Hyundai Elantra was driving around 60 mph and was not able to see him before she hit him with the front of her car, CHP said in a news release.

Fuller died at the scene, the CHP said.

It is not known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision, officers said.
