Dunkin’ is bringing its donuts to Visalia, but what about Fresno? Here’s what we know
The newest Dunkin’ opens Tuesday, selling its donuts and coffee in Visalia.
It opens at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 2010 S. Mooney Blvd., at the corner of Walnut Avenue.
And while that’s good news for fans of the chain’s donuts and blended drinks in the South Valley, it’s sure to inspire a question that comes up every time there’s news of a Dunkin’ opening in the central San Joaquin Valley:
When is Dunkin’ coming to Fresno?
Well, here’s what a representative of the company had to say in an email to The Bee: “Dunkin’ is still planning to continue expanding throughout the Central Valley and Northern California, and we will keep you and Dunkin’ fans up to date when we have new details.”
Dunkin’ (notice that Donuts was dropped from the name as the company plays up its beverages) announced in 2015 that its franchisee planned on adding 17 locations in Fresno and surrounding cities like Clovis and Tulare.
Dunkin’ has been steadily creeping closer to Fresno in recent years. Its Hanford location opened in 2017 and a Dunkin opened a year ago inside the Madera Walmart, just off Highway 99 at the Avenue 15 1/2 exit.
As for the Visalia location, it will be the company’s “Next Gen” style of store with a modern atmosphere, drive-thru and an easy system to pick up mobile orders. Some Next Gen stores have the bakery case stocked with donuts up front and cold beverages on tap.
