Dunkin’ Donuts is creeping closer to Fresno with its new location
Dunkin’ Donuts is opening another store in the Valley – but it’s not in Fresno yet.
The newest location of the popular doughnut and coffee shop will open inside the Walmart at 1977 W. Cleveland Ave. in Madera. It is replacing a McDonald’s inside the store.
But doughnut diehards who don’t mind traveling, take note: That Walmart is right off Highway 99 at the Avenue 15 1/2-W. Cleveland Avenue exit. That’s about a half hour drive from Fresno.
The Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t open yet, though.
The restaurant is still under construction with a wall around it, notes a Walmart manager. A specific opening date has yet to be set.
Known for its coffee as much as its doughnuts, Dunkin’ Donuts has 8,500 restaurants in 41 states. The only other location near Fresno opened in February of 2017 in front of Hanford Mall.
Dunkin’ Donuts announced in 2015 that it planned to open as many as 26 new locations in Fresno and San Francisco over the next few years. The company’s public relations firm did not immediately return messages seeking comment about the Madera opening date or any potential Dunkin’ Donuts in Fresno.
Modesto got a Dunkin’ Donuts in 2014.
