Newest Chick-fil-A in Fresno area sets opening date. There will be some freebies
The newest Chick-fil-A in the Fresno area is on the brink of opening.
Nearly nine months since construction began along Shaw Avenue just east of Willow Avenue, the Chick-fil-A in Clovis is set to open come July 1— with extended operating hours and freebies.
“Really excited for Chick-fil-A to become part of the Clovis community,” said franchise owner/operator Andrew Bloom. “We felt a passion for the Clovis community and felt this would be the right spot for us, and a place we could make a difference in the community.”
The Clovis Chick-fil-A, located at 560 W. Shaw Ave, is set to become the third franchise in the Fresno area, with other spots at the River Park shopping center and just outside of Fashion Fair Mall.
The Clovis Chick-fil-A is located in an area next to two hotels, the Hilton Garden Inn and TownePlace Suites by Marriott.
The restaurant will occupy a 4,852-square-foot stand-alone building, with 70 seats indoors and 24 seats outdoors, and will have two drive-thru lines, according to the document filed with the City of Clovis.
The Clovis Chick-fil-A will employ 120 people, Bloom said.
“It’s not just a place that sells chicken,” Bloom said. “It’s a place where we can serve our team and serve our guests. And it’s really something that’s unique compared to so many other different professions.”
Bloom, who is originally from the Los Angeles area, worked 30 years in the retail industry before spending his past three years working for Chick-fil-A in anticipation of the possibility of owning a franchise himself.
Bloom and his wife have long been fans of the Chick-fil-A food and liked the idea of working for a company with religious roots, which included known for being closed on Sundays “to allow operators and their team members to enjoy a day of rest, be with their families and loved ones, and worship if they choose.”
When Bloom was selected to become an owner/operator of a Chick-fil-A franchise — and learned his location would be in Clovis — he said he knew it’d be “a great fit.”
To celebrate the grand opening of the Clovis Chick-fil-A, customers of all ages wearing a full cow suit or any cow-spotted accessory on the opening date can redeem one free entree or kids’ meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-through, according to the chain’s website.
Bloom said his team is committed to creating an environment where every team member, guest, and neighbor feels welcomed, valued, and cared for, he said.
The biggest difference between Bloom’s restaurant and the other two locations in Fresno is its extended business hours. The Clovis Chick-fil-A will be open 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., closing one hour later than the Fresno locations.
