Chick-fil-A sets opening for new restaurant in Clovis on Shaw Avenue
Clovis’s first Chick-fli-A is set to open at the end of June, Clovis city officials said.
The popular fast food chain recently added its Clovis location to its ordering app, with the status listed as “coming soon.”
Located at the southwest corner of Helm and Shaw avenues, this is the third Chick-fil-A in the Fresno area. The existing locations are at Blackstone and Nees avenues and the Fashion Fair mall, both in Fresno.
The Clovis Chick-fil-A filed an application with the city in January 2025 and started construction late that year. It has a 4,852-square-foot stand-alone restaurant with 70 seats indoors and 24 seats outdoors. It comes with a double-lane drive-through and a parking lot with 79 spaces, according to the document Chick-fil-A filed with the city.
Clovis residents can expect the restaurant to open in late June if everything goes according to the chain’s plan filed with the city, said Shawn Miller, business development manager for Clovis.
Chick-fil-A is known for its chicken sandwiches. Customers always seem willing to wait in long lines of cars to get a meal. The chain holds a tradition of closing all of its restaurants on Sundays since the inception of the first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia, in 1946. That’s because the founder, S. Truett Cathy, believed it was important that he and his employees set aside one day a week to rest and enjoy time with families, according to Chick-fil-A’s website.
Within two blocks of the new location, there are multiple competitors, including bb.q Chicken, Carl’s Jr., McDonald’s and Taco Bell.
