A new fiber arts, home decor and culinary arts shop has recently opened in Old Town Clovis, providing a place for residents to shop, create, destress and build community.

Home Arts Design, at 352 Pollasky Ave., Suite. 101, held a soft opening on Sept. 6 and a grand opening on Sept. 26.

Shop owner Erin Berlin always loved attending knitting classes, but after having her son, it became something she put aside, Berlin told The Bee.

Ten years later, she picked up a Wobbles crochet for beginners kit to make a toy for her son.

The experience inspired her, not only to get back into her beloved hobby, but also ultimately to open a home arts store after seeing a gap in yarn sales in Clovis. Three months later, Home Arts Design opened its doors.

Located at The Backyard Social Club, a craft beer and live music venue in Clovis, 22-year-old Emi Spearman spearheaded the opening of Monstera Coffee Studio this September.

The coffee shop offers specialty espresso drinks, cold brew, tea, bagels and more.

Spearman views creating unique coffee drinks as a way to express her creativity while serving her community, she told The Bee. The majority of the syrups used in the beverages at Monstera are made from scratch by Spearman with her own recipes, she said.

The banana bread latte and blueberry matcha have been customer favorites since the business opened.
