Reporter Erik Rosales is leaving Fresno television, again. His new gig is on Capitol Hill
Less than a year after returning to Fresno television an investigative reporter with CBS47, Erik Rosales is leaving again.
In an announcement on social media, the longtime Fresno-area TV news personality said he’s taken a position with the EWTN News Nightly.
EWTN, or Eternal Word Television Network, presents around-the-clock Catholic-themed programming. Rosales will serve as the network’s Capitol Hill Correspondent, with an office inside the U.S. capitol, he said.
He is expecting to be on air by the end of the month, in time for Super Tuesday.
The move puts Rosales back near Washington D.C. and back reporting for a religious news organization. He left Fresno in 2017 to work as the National Security Correspondent for CBN, the evangelical Christian network founded by televangelist Pat Robertson.
Rosales grew up Catholic, then attended People’s Church while living in Fresno. Faith has always played a role in his life and career, he said.
“I prayed about this position,” he said in a phone interview.
“The doors just opened up.”
Rosales has spent the majority of his career in the Fresno market, first as a “scam buster” for the old CBS affiliate, KGPE-TV, and as a reporter and anchor with KMPH Fox 26, before returning to CBS47 last March.
The EWTN News Nightly airs weeknights at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and can be found on EWTN.com using the channel finder button.
