On-air talent swap? After leaving ABC30, Reuben Contreras shows up on KSEE Sunrise
Less than a month after leaving ABC30, meteorologist Reuben Contreras has joined KSEE24’s Sunrise morning team.
Station management didn’t return a call for comment and Contreras isn’t yet listed on website, but viewers began seeing him on Monday, when he was welcomed by his colleagues on social media.
“No... you’re not seeing things. Reuben Contreras is now on KSEE SUNRISE!!” anchor Alex Delgado wrote in a post on Facebook.
Contreras had been with ABC30 for 15 years, working in a variety of positions, including associate producer of Action News AM Live, for which he won a regional Emmy in 2012.
His departure last month came abruptly and without comment from the station, which removed his bio from its website. His Twitter and Facebook pages were also removed, though Contreras has returned to Twitter, @ReubenKSEE24.
Contreras’ move to KSEE24 feels like an on-air talent swap, as ABC30 recently hired meteorologist Madeline Evans.
Evans had been a meteorologist for both KSEE24 and CBS47 and was also a host on Central Valley Today.
