Raider Nation and Bulldogs fans, are you ready for a Derek Carr action figure?
Time to plan your Christmas shopping accordingly.
McFarlane Toys will release a Derek Carr action figure in November as part of its EA Sports Madden NFL 18 Series 2 lineup.
“We try and select the players that have had tremendous seasons in the previous year,” McFarlane Toys marketing director Chris Hernandez said.
Carr threw for more than 3,000 yards in each of his first three NFL seasons (11,194 total yards and 81 touchdowns), and led the Oakland Raiders to the playoffs last season for the first time since 2002.
Popularity certainly factors into the McFarlane lineup, something Carr isn’t lacking. He was named to the Pro Bowl in two of his first three seasons.
Other players in the Series 2 lineup: quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys; wide receiver Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons; running back Le’Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers; running back David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots.
The last Raiders player to have an action figure was wide receiver Amari Cooper last season.
McFarlane has priced the figures at $24.99 and says they’ll be available at major retailers (Target, Toys ‘R Us, FYE) come November. The figures will come with a digital code for the Madden NFL 18 video game good for five squad packs which contain cards that help gamers build up their Madden Ultimate Team.
Preorders have started at clarktoys.com.
Carr isn’t the first former Fresno State star to appear as action figure. Before him came his older brother, former NFL quarterback David Carr; then-San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews; and NBA All-Star Paul George.
