Valencia Avenue shooting kills one person, injures another
One person is dead and another was injured in a Thursday night shooting reported in the 400 block of W. Valencia Avenue near Fruit Avenue, said Fresno police Lt. Michael Landon.
Details are preliminary. Police responded to the scene around 7:40 p.m. after two men were outside when shots rang out. The victims were taken to the hospital, and one of them was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. The other has non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
The shooting may have been a drive-by, Landon said, and detectives are investigating if this shooting is related to the shooting that happened Thursday afternoon near Elm and Jensen avenues.
Police haven’t said whether any suspects have been identified. More details will be posted as they become available.
