An Orange Cove man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering another Orange Cove man whose body was found last week in a vineyard near Selma, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Brian Andrew Smith, 27, was booked into the Fresno County Jail Tuesday before detectives presented their case against him to prosecutors. The District Attorney’s Office agreed to file murder charges.

The body of Steven Robinson, 21, was found in a grape vineyard by a farmworker in southern Fresno County on June 8 just before 2 p.m. Robinson had been shot.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Smith and Robinson knew each other. But a motive for the murder has not been determined yet.
