Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington dead of apparent suicide
Chester Bennington, singer/frontman for the rock group Linkin Park, has died of an apparent suicide, according to the website TMZ.
The site is reporting that Bennington “hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County,” according to law enforcement sources. His body was discovered just before 9 a.m. Thursday morning, the site says.
Linkin Park was scheduled to perform at the Save Mart Center in Fresno in October on its One More Light tour. That tour has been canceled and tickets will be refunded at point of purchases, according the the arena. The band, known as a driving force in the rock-rap and nü metal movement, released a pop-heavy new album in May.
