This weekend’s top entertainment – Jo Koy, Summer Sweat and the Stone Fruit Jubilee
Don’t let the heat keep you quarantined inside this week. Get out and dance, laugh, eat, drink and ... sweat.
White Glove Service – Local show alert: Fresno reggae rock group White Glove Service celebrates the release of its latest album “Infinite.” Details: 8 p.m. Friday. Strummer’s, 833 E. Fern Ave. $10-$12, all ages. 559-485-5356, www.strummersclub.com
Jo Koy – Netflix gave Jo Koy a boost when it released his stand-up special in March. But the Filipino-American comic has been doing this for the better part of two decades. This is that, but with local baristas battling to see who pulls the best espresso shot or makes the best foam art. Details: 6 p.m. Saturday. Kuppa Joy, 1900 N. Echo Ave. Proceeds benefit Creative Fresno murals. www.creativefresno.com, www.kuppajoy.com
Stone Fruit Jubilee – Aside from 100-plus degree heat, there are few things as quintessential to summers in the central San Joaquin Valley than the stone fruit harvest – think peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots and pluots. This is the 10th year for the annual stone-fruit celebration. Details: 5 p.m. Saturday. 5790 N. Indianola Ave., Clovis. $5, free for children under 12. www.fruitjubilee.org
Summer Sweat – This is a free, all-ages music festival from the local promoter Love the Captive. It’s also a pretty nice euphemism for the layer of muck you’ll get just stepping outside this weekend. Details: 5 p.m. Saturday. Tioga Sequoia Brewing Co., 745 N. Fulton St. Free, all ages. www.lovethecaptive.com/summer-sweat
“Fools” – In this political climate, Neil Simon’s comic fable about a Russian village cursed with chronic stupidity might sell itself. This is the opening weekend for Good Company Players’ show.
