Raiders, fans react to Maxx Crosby’s being left off on All-Pro teams. ‘Brutally snubbed’
After having a dominating season, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby didn’t make the Associated Press’ All-Pro teams that was announced Friday morning.
Yes, that includes the second team. Crosby was tops in most categories this season.
He was first with 22 tackles for loss; first in tackles among defensive ends with 57; second in quarterback hits (35); third with pressures (81) and eighth with 12.5 sacks. Crosby was one of four players with at least 10 sacks and three forced fumbles (three).
Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers and Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys were named to the first team.
Voted into the second team was Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns and Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fans weren’t too happy Crosby was left on the list despite receiving two votes.
Crosby was surprised, too. He responded with “Wow.”
That added more motivation for Crosby next season.
Running back Josh Jacobs, wide receiver Davante Adams and kicker Daniel Carlson were named to the first team.
Adams voiced his displeasure that Crosby was left out. Crosby responded.
It’s not known why Crosby wasn’t voted on to the All-Pro team, but Bosa had 148 points, Parsons (112), Garrett (60), Reddick (33). Crosby was close behind with 29 points.
It was a new AP voting system. Fifty voters chose a first team and a second team. First-team votes are worth 3 points, second-team votes are worth 1..
