Former Fresno State cornerback DaRon Bland is headed to the Dallas Cowboys.

He was selected in the fifth round (167th overall) in the 2022 NFL draft on Saturday.

Bland played in 13 games for the Bulldogs last season, with the final nine coming as a cornerback. He recorded 45 tackles (34 solo).

Bland was fifth on the team, second among all defensive backs and the leading cornerback tackler where he had at least one tackle in every game.

At Fresno State Pro Day, he had the fastest time of 4.42 in the 40-yard dash.

Prior to joining Fresno State, he played at Sacramento State. He graduated from Central Catholic-Modesto in 2017.

Bland is the first Fresno State football player to be drafted since Mychal Walker was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2020 NFL draft.
