Raiders’ 2020 schedule: Derek Carr and Josh Allen will meet and four primetime games at home

Derek Carr and Josh Allen made their marks in the central San Joaquin Valley.

Now, they will meet for the first time in the NFL.

The Las Vegas Raiders will host the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 as part of the 2020 season, based on the NFL schedule released Thursday.

The schedule is usually released the week before the NFL draft, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the league decided to release the schedule two weeks later.

Carr starred for Fresno State, leading the Bulldogs to two Mountain West championships, and Allen (Firebaugh) was one of the top passers in the state for Reedley College.

In addition, the Raiders will have four primetime home games.

The first game at Allegiant Stadium is a prime-time game against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

The Raiders will host Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7 on Sunday Night Football. It will be the Raiders’ first game on Sunday night since 2017.

Las Vegas will host the Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 on Sunday Night Football.

The last prime-time game will be against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15 on Thursday Night Football.

In an interview with J.T. The Brick, Raiders coach Jon Gruden showed he might’ve learned something about former Fresno State coach Pat Hill from Carr.

“We’ll play anybody, anywhere, on any timezone,” said Gruden, stating a phrase similar to what Hill used when talking about Fresno State’s scheduling. “That is the mentality I want us to have, and I know that’s a mentality we’re going to have.”
