Grizzlies Report for June 1: Game at Albuquerque rained out

Up next – Wednesday’s game at Albuquerque was rained out, so the teams will play a doubleheader Thursday beginning at 3:35 p.m. PDT. Wednesday’s scheduled starters will take the mound in the first game, while Fresno RH Mike Hauschild (3-6, 3.96) will start the second game against RH Jeff Hoffman (2-3, 3.69). Hauschild, who was selected by the Astros in the 33rd round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Dayton, is looking to snap a mini slump, having lost his past three starts.

Tuesday recap – The Grizzlies rallied in the seventh inning as Matt Duffy hit a run-scoring single and Jon Singleton followed with a two-run double, but that’s as close as they got as Fresno lost 5-3 at Albuquerque. Stephen Cardullo put the Grizzlies in a hole early with a three-run home run just three batters into the game.

Roster moves– The Houston Astros optioned Colin Moran to Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday. As a result, the Grizzlies placed RH Cesar Valdez on the temporarily inactive list.

Where are they now? – After helping the Fresno Grizzlies to a 2015 Pacific Coast League title and Triple-A national championship, eight players from last year’s team have found places with other organizations this season: Matt Dominguez (Toronto), Robbie Grossman (Minnesota), Brett Oberholtzer (Philadelphia), Alex Presley (Milwaukee), Domingo Santana (Milwaukee), Dan Straily (Cincinnati), Jonathan Villar (Milwaukee) and Ronald Torreyes (New York Yankees).
