Grizzlies Report for May 15: Nashville 6, Fresno 3

Sunday recap – Fresno struck first, but the Nashville Sounds rallied late to drop the Grizzlies for the second straight game in a 6-3 win at First Tennessee Park. The Sounds broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth on Bryan Anderson’s RBI groundout and extended their lead in the seventh on back-to-back, two-out RBI base hits. Grizzlies RH Brady Rodgers fell to 0-2 on the road, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits for a 3.73 ERA. He also struck out eight and walked three. Henderson Alvarez, in a rehab start from the A’s, allowed six hits and two earned runs in five innings for the win. Colin Moran hit his third homer of the year, a solo shot in the fifth for his team-leading 22nd RBI.

Up next – Fresno RH Mike Hauschild (3-3, 4.54) takes the mound against Nashville RH Zach Neal (4-1, 2.70) at 4:35 p.m. Monday. Hauschild is searching for his first road win of the season after dropping two away starts at Salt Lake and Reno last month. The 26-year-old righty gave up nine earned runs in a 12-7 loss to the Aces but has since dropped his ERA from 6.35 to 4.54 after three solid starts. Neal returns to Triple-A Nashville, five days after his MLB debut with parent-club Oakland in a three-inning relief appearance against the Red Sox.
