Grizzlies Report: Fresno 7, Salt Lake 0

Sunday recap: Mike Hauschild struck out six in six scoreless innings and Tony Kemp, Tyler White and Joe Sclafani each drove in two runs as the Grizzlies thumped the Bees 7-0 before an announced crowd of 8,198 at Chukchansi Park. Hauschild moved to 7-5 and lowered his ERA to 3.49 -- best among Grizzlies starters and fourth in the Pacific Coast League. PCL MVP Matt Duffy connected with a solo home run that ignited a five-run second inning. It was Duffy's 20 homer of the season. Relievers Kevin Chapman, Jordan Jankowski and James Hoyt each threw a scoreless inning as the Grizzlies (84-58) recorded their ninth shutout of the season and their sixth since August.

Grizzlies on Monday: After more than five months of Triple-A baseball, the regular-season finale arrives. The Fresno Grizzlies host the Salt Lake Bees at 11:05 a.m. at Chukchansi Park. Left-hander Brett Oberholtzer (7-4, 3.88 ERA) had his previous start scratched because of a blister but is scheduled to take the mound against Bees LH Tyler DeLoach (1-6, 6.25).

Stat of the day: 84 – The most victories by a Houston Astros Triple-A club since 2006. In addition, the Grizzlies set a franchise record for wins in a season and captured the most wins at home in a season at 47.

Out for playoffs: Grizzlies right-handed pitchers Tyson Perez (elbow) and Brady Rodgers (oblique) will miss the remainder of the season, manager Tony DeFrancesco said. The Grizzlies, however, got back RH Jake Buchanan after he’d been designated for assignment and received LH Chris Cotton from Double-A Corpus Christi.
