Grizzlies Report for Sept. 3: Albuquerque 4, Fresno 3
Thursday recap: Fresno fell 4-3 to Albuquerque in front of 6,000 at Chukchansi Park, ending what had been a 2-0 run when wearing its “Tacos” uniforms. The Isotopes got seven hits and four earned runs off RH Dan Straily (10-9, 4.77 ERA), who suffered his third straight loss. Fresno took a 2-0 lead in the second on a Joe Sclafani sacrifice fly and a throwing error. Albuquerque plated two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead, highlighted by Angelys Nina’s go-ahead double in the latter. Tyler Heineman homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but Nola Fontana was called out on strikes to end it. The Grizzlies are 3-9 since winning a franchise record-tying 11 in a row Aug. 11-21 – and 2-7 since clinching the Pacific Coast League’s Pacific Northern Division title on Aug. 25.

Stat of the day: 10 – healthy pitchers on the Grizzlies’ active roster, with RHs Tyson Perez and Brady Rodgers sidelined on the disabled list, RH Jake Buchanan designated for assignment and LH Brett Oberholtzer recovering from a blister on his throwing hand.
Moving up: Houston recalled OF Preston Tucker on Wednesday, making him the fourth Grizzly to join the Astros since big league rosters expanded Sept. 1.
