Grizzlies Report for July 21: Las Vegas 4, Fresno 0
Wednesday outlook: Fresno Grizzlies RH Mike Hauschild (3-2, 3.74) takes the mound for his first start since the All-Star break, facing Las Vegas 51s LH Darin Gorski (8-6, 4.65). First pitch is 7:05 p.m. Gorski issued five walks in his previous start but kept the damage to two runs in five innings to get a win.
Promoted: Outfielder Leo Harris, who made his Grizzlies debut Monday, was the 13th player promoted to Triple-A Fresno from Double-A Corpus Christi. That’s quite the contrast from past Grizzlies seasons under ex-parent club San Francisco Giants, who regularly restocked the Fresno club with players from their Single-A team rather than their Double-A club.
Tuesday recap: Las Vegas’ Matt Bowman threw a two-hitter and the 51s provided 10 hits en route to a 4-0 win against the visiting Grizzlies. Bowman (7-10, 5.05 ERA) struck out six and only allowed a single to Fresno’s Tyler White and Matt Duffy.
Stat of the day: Grizzlies first baseman Tyler White has continued to flourish since his promotion from Double-A Corpus Christi to the Grizzlies. White has a hit in 12 of his first 13 Triple-A games and is batting .423 with two homers and 12 RBIs. He has a .500 on-base percentage and 1.000 on-base plus slugging percentage.
