Grizzlies Report for May 30: Fresno 2, Oklahoma City 1

Grizzlies on Sunday: The Grizzlies play the third of a four-game series at Oklahoma City, scheduled for 12:05 p.m., with RH Alex White (1-3, 5.73 ERA) opposing Dodgers RH Scott Baker (3-3, 5.30). White was the No. 15 overall selection of the 2009 draft and has twice been traded. First from Cleveland to Colorado in 2011 and then from the Rockies to Houston in 2012. Baker is a major league veteran who has pitched for five teams in the past 10 seasons, including two starts earlier this season for the parent Los Angeles Dodgers. Baker’s most productive season came in 2009, when he picked up a career-high 15 victories and pitched a career-best 200 innings for the Minnesota Twins.

Saturday rewind: Matt Duffy hit a two-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Fresno ahead for good, and three Grizzlies pitchers combined on a four-hitter during a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma City. Starter Dan Straily (4-3) allowed three hits and one earned run while striking out 10 over six innings. Jason Stoffell held the Dodgers hitless for two innings before Kevin Chapman came on to fan two batters in a scoreless ninth for his fourth save. Joe Sclafani walked ahead of Duffy’s fifth home run.

Stat of the day: 70 — strikes thrown by Straily, a right-hander who has spent parts of four seasons in the majors with Oakland and the Chicago Cubs, during Saturday night’s 95-pitch outing.
