Grizzlies report for May 23: Fresno 3, Nashville 2
Grizzlies on Sunday: Fresno RH Dan Straily (2-3, 4.33 ERA) takes the mound when the Grizzlies close out the series against Oakland A’s affiliate Nashville at 2:05 p.m.. The Sounds will throw RH Chris Bassitt (1-2, 3.86).
Saturday rewind: In arguably the most dramatic win of the season, Fresno pulled out a 3-2 walk-off win over the Sounds in 11 innings. After leaving the bases loaded in the 10th, the Grizzlies fell behind 2-1 in the top of the 11th. Down to their final out, they loaded the bases again — Alex Presley and Tyler Heineman singled and Joe Sclafani was hit by pitch — to set up Robbie Grossman’s full-count liner to deep center that was scored a single but brought home the tying and winning runs.
Stat of the day: Two — shutout innings for Grizzlies RH reliever Mitch Lambson in his first Triple-A appearance. Lambson, 24, retired the side in order in the eighth, then walked one and allowed a hit in the ninth. He was 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA and an 18-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 17.1 innings for Double-A Corpus Christi.
