Grizzlies enjoy spoils of rise to top in PCL – outfielder wins weekly honor
The Fresno Grizzlies have surged to the top of the Pacific Coast League standings, earning one player extra attention.
Outfielder Preston Tucker was named PCL Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Tucker was a catalyst as the Grizzlies won 6 of 7 through Sunday to move into a tie with Reno atop the Pacific Northern Division. Tucker had 28 total bases and 13 RBIs (both best in Minor League Baseball).
Tucker, in his fourth season at the Triple-A level and third with Fresno, leads the Grizzlies with 76 RBIs. He spent time with the parent Houston Astros in both 2015 and 2016.
The Grizzlies finished a series against Round Rock on Monday night and open a four-game series against New Orleans on Tuesday night, all at Chukchansi Park.
