Two teams debut in The Fresno Bee high school football rankings — plus new No. 1

Central East regained the top spot in the latest Fresno Bee rankings after a 55-17 win over Edison-Stockton.

Clovis East, last week’s top-ranked team, played Grant tough and came within minutes of a victory, but a late touchdown by the Pacers was enough for the 19-15 win.

While it is hard to bump the Timberwolves, a loss is a loss — and they drop one spot since they played Grant close.

There were other changes, too.

Immanuel debuts at No. 23 after a 30-7 victory over Orosi and Washington Union is No. 24 after defeating Garza 29-25.

Arroyo Grande and North dropped out.
