Sanger’s Israel Robles voted the Fresno-area football Player of the Week for Sept. 14-16

Israel Robles of Sanger High is voted The Fresno Bee’s high school football Player of the Week for Sept. 14-16.

Robles received 11,253 votes (49%). He finished ahead of Jordan Pierro of Clovis West, who picked up 8,962 votes (39%).

Ernesto Villanueva of Coalinga was third (1,489 votes, 6%).

Twenty-five players were nominated. Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 24.

Recent winners are Andre Flores, Dos Palos; Noah Tasi, Coalinga; Johnny Cunha, Lemoore; and Earl Riley, Central.
