Jacob Silva of Mendota is the winner of The Bee’s Player of the Week for the Nov. 19 Central Section semifinals.

He picked up 21,268 votes (71%) to pull way from Roland Russo of Bullard who received 8,030 votes (27%).

Ah’marion Gaines-Smith of Central came in third with 375 votes (1%).

Six high school football players in the Fresno area were nominated in The Bee’s Player of the Week poll.

The poll ended at noon Saturday.

Past winners: Tanner Wilson of Sunnyside (Week 0), Beau Green of Madera (Week 1), Andrew Camarillo of Orosi (Week 2), Ah’marion Gaines-Smith of Central (Week 3), Caleb Hall of Edison (Week 4), Cayden Muir of Hanford (Week 5 and Week 6), Ashton Chalabian of Kerman (Week 7), Roland Russo of Bullard (Week 8), Gaines-Smith (Week 9), Jr. Cervantes of Woodlake (Week 10), Russo (opening week of playoffs) and Mario Cosma of Roosevelt (quarterfinals).
