The winner of The Bee’s Player of the Week for the opening week of playoffs is Roland Russo of Bullard.

Russo received 1,938 votes (91%). Lawrence Stell of Washington Union came in second with 112 votes (5%).

Past winners: Tanner Wilson of Sunnyside (Week 0), Beau Green of Madera (Week 1), Andrew Camarillo of Orosi (Week 2), Ah’marion Gaines-Smith of Central (Week 3), Caleb Hall of Edison (Week 4), Cayden Muir of Hanford (Week 5 and Week 6), Ashton Chalabian of Kerman (Week 7), Roland Russo of Bullard (Week 8), Gaines-Smith (Week 9) and Jr. Cervantes of Woodlake (Week 10).

Fourteen high school football players in the Fresno area were nominated..

The poll ended at noon Saturday.
