Big upset and a wild win in Week 8 juggle The Bee’s Top 25 prep football rankings

Redwood High makes an appearance in The Fresno Bee’s Top 25 football rankings after knocking off then-No. 5 Hanford in West Yosemite League action.

The Rangers checked in at No. 25 after defeating the Bullpups 24-21 on Oct. 15. Hanford fell seven spots to No. 12.

Another ranking-shuffling result: Clovis North beat Clovis West 28-7. The Golden Eagles fell seven spots to No. 21 and the Broncos moved up five to No. 20.

The top five remained the same as top-ranked Buchanan held off Clovis 33-24. A charge in the second half of that loss helped the Cougars move up one spot to No. 7.

In a wild Central Sequoia League game, Kingsburg edged Dinuba 42-41 in overtime. The win moves the Vikings up one spot to No. 9.

The Emperors also move up one spot to No. 24.
