High School Football

New teams join The Fresno Bee Top 25 football rankings and one team moves up 10 spots

There is a shakeup in The Fresno Bee Top 25 rankings after four weeks of high school football in the Fresno area.

The top five remains the same even with a Buchanan loss — the No. 1 Bears had a strong showing against state-ranked Los Alamitos.

Then comes the reboot, most notably with Clovis West rising 10 spots to No. 10 after dispatching Bullard 35-28 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Bullard fell four places to No. 12.

Hanford finally played a full game, routing Porterville 27-0. That plus an earlier strong showing against No. 4 San Joaquin Memorial (the Bullpups trailed 8-7 at the half before the game was called off because of bad air quality) pushed Hanford up five spots to No. 9.

Debuting in the rankings this week are No. 20 Dinuba, No. 23 Lemoore and No. 25 Clovis North.

Dinuba’s notable wins came against Tulare Western and El Diamante.
