Check out the latest Fresno Bee football rankings with two teams making their debut
There is movement in The Fresno Bee’s Central Section high school football Top 25 rankings with the additions of Clovis West and Clovis East after impressive wins.
Clovis West stepped in at No. 24 after rolling to a 28-6 win over Damonte Ranch-Reno and Clovis East is No. 25 after blanking Atwater 34-0 in a shortened game because of dangerous air quality.
While there was no movement in the Top 10 (more on that in a bit), there was shuffling from Nos. 11 down.
Central Valley Christian (2-0) moved up four spots to No. 11 after blanking Mt. Whitney 31-0. In Week 0, the Cavaliers defeated Bakersfield Christian 30-24.
In the biggest drop in The Bee’s rankings, Tulare Western fell eight spots to No. 19 after losing to Dinuba 48-20.
In a matchup of ranked teams last week, No. 21 El Diamante and No. 23 Tulare Union combined for 91 points with the Miners edging the Tribe 47-44. El Diamante moved up four spots and Tulare Union fell five spots.
Bullard and Bakersfield remain in the Top 10 thanks to ambitious schedules: Bullard lost to No. 1 Buchanan and No. 3 Central; Bakersfield fell to No. 5 Clovis and power Los Alamitos, No. 5 in MaxPreps’ state rankings.
