Vote for The Fresno Bee’s Small School Player of the Year

Voting is now closed.

It is time to determine who will be The Fresno Bee’s Player of the Year for the small schools.

We also are running two other polls to determine the overall Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.

The candidates for The Bee’s Small School MVP are:

Blake Spomer, Kingsburg: The junior was named the Central Sequoia League Most Valuable Player after helping the Vikings to a 10-1 record and 5-0 run through league play.

Adam Rodriguez, Selma: The CSL Defensive Player of the Year, Rodriguez helped the Bears to the Central Section Division IV title and an 11-3 record, including 4-1 in the CSL.

Tory Horton, Washington Union: Horton was voted the North Sequoia League Most Valuable Player. He totaled 821 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Bobby Staley, Caruthers: Staley was named the West Sequoia League Outstanding Player of the Year. He accumulated 36 rushing touchdowns on 235 carries for 1,834 yards.

Johnny Solorio, Riverdale: Solorio was named the West Sequoia League Defensive Player of the Year after guiding the Cowboys to a 4-2 record in the WSL.

Daniel Trujillo, Lindsay: The East Sequoia League Offensive Most Valuable Player, Trujillo had 325 carries for 2,256 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Trent Calvert, Dos Palos: The sophomore quarterback completed 154 of 262 for 2,688 yards and 32 touchdowns while guiding the Broncos to a 12-2 record and 5-0 in the West Sierra League.

Andre Bravo, Strathmore: Named East Sequoia League Defensive Most Valuable Player, Bravo finished with 74 tackles and six tackles for loss. He also had nine interceptions and nine pass deflections.
