Fresno-area boys basketball powers met in the Clovis West Nike final. It was no contest.
Clovis West High was hardly challenged this week at its Nike Invitational boys basketball tournament.
Even a two-time defending Central Section champion was no threat.

The Golden Eagles rolled past Central 81-66 in the championship game Saturday night, blowing out to a 20-point lead in the second quarter.
Brandon Recek scored 27 points en route to being named tournament Most Valuable Player.
Clovis West was ahead 32-11 with just under 5 minutes to go before halftime.
The Golden Eagles improved to 12-1, while Central – which won a second straight section Division I title in March – fell to 6-2.
Clovis West reached the championship with wins over Independence (91-52), Beyer-Modesto (72-50) and a Memorial team (79-73) that is ranked 19th in the state by Cal-Hi Sports.
In that Friday semifinal, the Golden Eagles took a 61-43 lead over the Panthers into the fourth quarter. Central beat Cal-Hi seventh-ranked Modesto Christian 85-63.
