Clovis High’s Cassidy Crouch named B’nai B’rith winner
Clovis High’s Cassidy Crouch, a three-sport standout who carries a 4.47 grade-point average, is the recipient of the 65th annual B’nai B’rith Student Athlete Award.
Crouch was selected from a pool of scholar athletes representing 16 Fresno-area high schools during a banquet Monday at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building. She received a $2,500 scholarship, while the other 15 nominees each received $500 scholarships.
Crouch played water polo, basketball and badminton for the Cougars while distinguishing herself academically and in the community. Her list of activities is long: California Scholarship Federation life member, junior class president, student body secretary, principal’s honor roll, Club of 2016, Chess Club, FCA, Leadership, Block C, 4.0 and above program, Youth Court, Diversity Council, AP Scholar of Distinction, Junior Olympic water polo, church youth group, church children’s ministry, youth basketball coach, volunteer at elementary school carnivals, assisted living facility, Poverello House, Marjaree Mason Center, canned food drive and teacher’s aide.
In water polo, Crouch was named The Bee’s Player of the Year to cap a three-year varsity career that saw her help Clovis win two Central Section Division I titles and finish runner-up once. She is headed to UC Davis on a water polo scholarship.
Crouch was also a three-year varsity basketball player, being named the Cougars’ team defensive MVP as a junior.
In three seasons of varsity badminton, Crouch was part of the section doubles champion as a sophomore, and a doubles runner-up as a junior and senior.
Crouch is the third straight winner from Clovis High, following Adam Prentice in 2015 and Nick Nevills in 2014.
