When Edison High picked up an early-season win on the road at Templeton on Aug. 22, it was a relief to the Tigers players and coaching staff.

The Tigers had won 28-20 in overtime.

But that relief ended two weeks later when the Central Section Office ruled Edison used an ineligible player, thus forfeiting the game against Templeton, section commissioner Ryan Tos confirmed in an email to The Bee.

The Tigers (0-5) are on a bye this week and will resume play when they open the County/Metro Athletic Conference against Madera.

In another ruling, Buchanan now has an undefeated record at 5-0 due to Bakersfield using an ineligible player in their game, Tos said.

The Bears had lost 28-13 to the Drillers.
