Alexis Holland of Washington Union is The Bee’s prep girls Athlete of the Week for Jan. 9

Alexis Holland of Washington Union basketball is the winner of The Fresno Bee Girls Athlete of the Week poll for Jan. 9-14.

Holland had 28,062 votes (42%) to finish ahead of Washington Union counterpart Mariah Zuniga of the soccer team. She had 21,966 votes (33%). Sadie Sin of Clovis basketball is third with 3,889 votes (6%).

The 19 high school athletes nominated came from basketball and soccer.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Jan. 23.

Past winners are Taryn Brice of Clovis West soccer, Morgan Trigueiro of Caruthers basketball and Taylor Rombaoa of Clovis East basketball.
