Bee’s prep football Week 7 predictions: Picking Buchanan-Clovis West and other games
The start of the Tri-River Athletic Conference begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday between Central and Clovis at Lamonica Stadium.
That game and two other TRAC matchups are spotlighted by The Bee in our latest predictions, including top-ranked Buchanan against No. 2 Clovis West.
in the past three weeks, the No. 1 Bears faced then-Nos. 2 Liberty-Bakersfield and San Joaquin Memorial and came out winners in those showdowns.
Also in The Bee’s sights: Madera vs. Bullard in the County/Metro Athletic Conference and Fowler vs. Liberty-Madera Ranchos.

Buchanan (5-0) vs. Clovis West (5-0)
When: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Lamonica Stadium
What a colossal matchup to start the TRAC.
The Bears have been tested and this is another test for them against a tough Golden Eagles defense.
It’s just not the defense that gets Clovis West going. It’s also their offense, led by QB Ryan Markarian and WR Marshel Sanders.
The Bears counter with QB Jayson Mandal and RB Michael Runnels who helped the Bears to a comeback win over San Joaquin Memorial two weeks ago.
This is a game that’s tough to predict.
Prediction: Buchanan 30, Clovis West 27
Central (3-2) at Clovis (3-2)
When: 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Lamonica Stadium
Central entered the bye week after a 35-10 loss to Liberty-Bakersfield.
The Cougars won 21-14 over Bullard two weeks ago.
TRAC games are always tough to predict. This is no exception.
Prediction: Central 27, Clovis 17
Clovis East (5-0) vs. Clovis North (3-2)
When: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium
This is a great matchup for both teams.
In each of their games, the Timberwolves have topped 40 points. Can they add another?
The Broncos have been equally impressive to start the season. This game has the makings of a shootout.
Prediction: Clovis East 47, Clovis North 40
Madera (3-2) at Bullard (1-4)
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday at McLane Stadium
The Knights have lost three straight but those games have been close for Bullard.
Madera has won two straight.
The Knights rebound here.
Prediction: Bullard 47, Madera 24
Fowler (4-1, 2-0 NWSL) at Liberty-Madera Ranchos (5-0, 2-0)
The newly-formed Northwest Sequoia League features two teams that are playing well.
The Redcats have won four straight, picking up wins over Firebaugh, Immanuel, Minarets and Parlier.
The Hawks have wins over Mendota, Sanger West, Dos Palos, Yosemite and Caruthers.
Liberty will continue its unbeaten streak.
Prediction: Liberty-Madera Ranchos 43, Fowler 27
